Four Months Old

Norah is 4 months old now!  Time has gone by so quickly.  This is what Norah has been up to recently:

  • Rolling Over.  We caught Norah rolling over on video earlier.  Check out that blog post here.  Now she is working on rolling over in the other direction, from her back to her tummy.  She often throws her head back and turns to lay on her side, and we think she'll rollover, but she hasn't done it yet.
  • Talking and Laughing.  She likes to talk to herself when she plays under her playmat, and she yams at us and others who will listen.  She recently added new "words" to her vocabulary and also makes noises with her lips now.
  • Pulling on her toes.  Norah recently discovered her toes during a bath.  She grabbed her right toes with her right hand, and we've caught her doing this several times since then.  I haven't gotten a picture of it yet, but I did catch her grabbing both her right and left toes at the same time once.
  • Pooping.  Norah has had quite an interesting month with her bowel movements.  Daycare tells us she often has diarrhea and we have had to pick her up from daycare a few times due to this, but she has also been constipated and unable to have a BM as well for a few days.  We've had our share of blowouts as well.
  • Losing her hair.  Norah started to loose her hair right around 3 months I think.  She used to have a lot more hair on the top of her head, and I started to think she was going to look like a bald man with only hair on the sides of her head.  But it seems like her hair is now growing again, and hopefully she is gaining hair back on top of her head now instead of losing it.
  • Touching and Grabbing with her hands.  Norah always likes to have stuff in her hands.  She grabs at her toys, our shirts, my hair, her diapers, etc.  Whatever is nearby she will reach out for, with a tendency to use her right hand more than her left.  She also likes to just look at her hands.  They seem to intrigue her.

Look at those chubber legs!

  1. I love those chubby thighs!

Arlo lost his hair three separate times. He's no worse for wear. Leo didn't lose all his hair like Arlo, but he lost the very top of it three times. Now it's actually growing, through. I think Norah will always have more hair than Leo. ^_^

Hooray for all the fun baby stuff. Not so hooray for diaper blowouts. Now you just gotta wait until she poops in your hand, ha! And now that she's grabbing, watch out for tablecloths, napkins, coasters, basically anything that's under anything else. Babies THINK they can do that magic trick, but they actually can't.

    Love the posts and pics!
